I'm actually surprised nobody cautioned you more about Riverside Drive. I'm of course unaware of what your expectations are, but Riverside is definitely not so nice. Most of the houses are very very run down multi-family with absentee landlords. None of them really have yards either. I grew up in and still live near Honesdale, and Riverside Dr was always known as the "crappy" side of town.

I hate to be negative, and forgive me for being blunt, but I'd want somebody to tell me if I was re-locating from Hawaii.

On the other hand, it's basically the only crappy spot in town. Honesdale has tons of character, very little crime, and has all of the conveniences you'd need. What live_in_nepa said is also very true... respect us locals, and we have no problem returning the gesture.

Overall, it's a great town. I'd just hate for somebody's first impression of Honesdale to be Riverside Dr. Maybe consider another spot in town... if you head up Ridge and Terrace Streets, you'd be closer to the schools also.

Default Rental home closer to elem. School in honesdale

Thank's to Riverside4ever and RurNepa's info.

Any idea for rental homes near elementary schools in Honesdale?..When we get to Honesdale on July 4th, we will rent in Riverside Drive but will not stay there long. We have no choice because we need an address to send our stuff (Matson). If you have an idea pls. let me know..I really appreciate it!..
