Default Hawaii family moving to Honesdale, PA

Hi to all.. We finally book our flight moving to Honesdale. The rental house that we found is in Riverside Street. The house is nice.We only see it in the pictures. Anyone can give me info about the place? I'm talking about druggies?. I like the area because it's near in everything. I have 3 kids ages 9, 7 and 3. Thank's in advance!!..

Honesdale Is a nice little town , Every town has druggies , But in Honesdale They are ""Not in your face "" the police do a good job of keeping the riff raff off the streets and the judge hands out stiff sentences to those caught .. . I live outside of Honesdale , And I will never live anywhere else ever again.. I love it here .. Good luck and have fun ..

Dear God.

Stay in Hawaii! I'm assuming this is some sort of job relocation and not a voluntary choice, right?

Honesdale is a good town, but sharply different than Hawaii. I agree, it has to be a job relocation, because I don't believe sane people pick up and move from Hawaii to Honesdale, PA.

Thank you so much RIVERSIDE4EVER for the info- I feel better about it. I been searching about Honesdale and all they said are positive. Can't wait to see my kids going in a great school.

TO "THE COMMISH" - It sure is a voluntary choice. The schools here in Puna Big Island is not really good. My kids deserve better school. To much drugs here. Many times somebody throw dead wild pigs infront of our gate, we pay $434. for yearly maintainace (like fixing private roads, cutting weeds ) but we never get that service. Our road is terrible. Also, very expensive to live here. I think my kids will have fun with the snow.

If you live here in Big Island, you get bored driving to Volcano once a month, only 1 little beach in Hilo side for small kids...we have Bay here which is dirty to swim. We have to drive to Kona for the whole family to enjoy swimming and we are talking 5 hrs back 'n forth. The county fair is very terrible. You were covered by dust/dirt when you get out. NEPA has greater opportunity for my kids to explore..lakes, river, beach and more.

aloha..and welcome to nepa... Honesdale is nice, rural, peaceful. My brother used to live there, and I miss the visits to that area.
