We have been seeing a lot of these nasty black carpenter ants. We had the house treated 2 years ago by Ehrlich but they seem to be back again. I am calling Ehrlich tomorrow morning. Does anybody have a solution how to get rid of these nasty things? Do you know how long Ehrlich guarantees their treatment on carpenter ants? I will keep you all posted as to what Ehrlich will say when I call.....

Yes, Eurlich guarantees their treatment. We had them by great numbers. They came in and all gone. Carpenter ants will destroy your foundation and tunnel through the wood worse than termites.

Ehrlich is not such a great choice---unless of course they will come back for a retreatment. My hubby works for a great pest control company--reasonable, personal--they don't send salesman out to the place to get a bigger sell---just a personal experience from when we first moved her back a few years and we needed treatments done. We ended up finding a smaller, local company and strange as it ended-hubby now works for them. If interested, I can let you know. Not sure what the policy is here about posting businesses???

I hate those ants! AND they bite! BLECH!

Business postings are not allowed, or maybe it's only real estate agents who are prohibited from responding w/ business info...lol....

I for one have Pocono Pest Control come to my house every year, usually - not only the big black carpenter ants, but these eensy weensy nasty little ants sometimes get into the house and they get into EVERYTHING - even stuff that is closed up (like a jar of peanut butter - they crawl along the threads on the inside of the jar lid!) We have had bees, ants, mice, etc. terrorizing us (lol) but one visit from the pest control and we were done with them. I believe that their treatments are guaranteed for a year.

In addition to pest control companies, other things you can do is to get rid of any mulch that may be surrounding your home... or any stumps that may be near the home that may harbor a nest. The company may have eradicated the ones in the home, but there may be nests very near your home & your home then gets re-infiltrated.

Good point, yes they do come in from mulch and wood. The ones I had were walking across the telephone lines. But since Eurlich came no sign of them.

Donna, I have had Eurlich for about 6 years, they come as often as you want and it costs a monthly fee. I never had a problem with them.

Yes, call Ehrlich back...immediately....if your on their plan and you have bugs, between sprayings, they will return to respray at their costs. Also, with all the rain we've been having, it makes the ants come out of the ground and want to go up to get out of the water, so this might be a fluke...I had the same thing, but with small tiny ants, crawling up my spounting....

Hugs,
Creme
