Default Where to live in Hazleton/WB area?

My husband is working in West Hazleton and we are planning on moving to that area. We prefer the suburbs, newer homes and about half an acre or more. We don't need to consider school districts but don't want to be too far from shopping, activities, etc. What areas should we consider? I have thought about Sugarloaf, Drums, and Mountaintop. Can you tell me a little about these areas and if there are other areas I might want to consider? We don't want to be more than about a half hour from West Hazleton. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks!

Those are all good suburban choices, with Mountaintop being the closest to Wilkes-Barre (with the largest shopping district in the region, along with the Arena, Various restaraunts, mall ect), but also a little bit further from W. Hazleton. You may also want to check out Butler Twp., Conyngham, Nuangola. These are all your typical suburbs, with newer developments. If I were you, I'd just take a ride along Rt.309 from Wilkes-Barre to Hazleton, and see what stands out. Good luck and welcome to the region.

Thanks for the info W-B proud. I like the Conyngham and Drums areas from what I've seen but I'm concerned about the fact that they go to Hazleton SD. While we don't have a child to consider, we're worried it could affect our resale if the company relocates us again in the future. Any thoughts on that?

Conyngham Twp. is a very nice quiet area. I don't know about resale vs SD issues.
