"George,

We do have plans on coming to the state. However this area is not
currently set up within our warehousing distribution logistics and we do
not have the capabilities to yet supply the area. Trader Joe's expands
at a slower pace then most retailers and at this time this state is not
in the Trader Joe's 2-year plan.

Customer Relations"

Looks like I'm shopping at WalMart for at least 2+ years longer!!!
Poor JG, I feel for ya man! I think I'd have to still make monthly trips to get some of my TJ favorites!

I can't say I miss Trader Joe's, as I was always 1 step ahead of them. They opened a few blocks from me in Manhattan 6 months after I left, and then 2 blocks from me in Brooklyn 6 months after I left there.

But, I'd be very happy to have one around here, and I filled out the survey.

Just get me to move out of NEPA and one will appear.

We need a Trader Joe's type store here!! Publix has the monopoly, & therefore charges mega-money for mediocre food!! We also have Winn-Dixie, which is not good quality, Whole Foods, (which is just as pricey as Publix), & WalMart.

Viva Le Competicion!!!

If you travel Route 84 sometime, there is a Trader Joe's in Danbury just into CT. It is an easy off/on in a strip mall at Exit 2. It is a two hour drive from Scranton so not where you want to shop every week

Good to know! I've got friends in Bethel, so I've actually been to the Danbury TJ's. Didn't realize it was that close.

To Jungle George, you are so right. Publix is expensive..I only shop there when there is a sale..I do buy
my fish at Albertson's though, they have the best fish and prices on sale...winn dixie in a pinch..most of
my bulk items I buy at BJ's and even some meat..save a lot on bulk items there. I shopped in Trader Joe's in San Francisco....they also have two stores in North Jersey....They sell a brand of wine called
Two buck chuck..Listen it's not Santa Marguerita, but it's not awful either...Liked the stores, first time I
was ever in one. but they are a little pricey on some items....

Wegman's prices are no where near Whole Foods. Alot of their prices are comparable to walmart and other supermarkets. I even see some items cheaper at Wegmans. As far as organic, I am not sure. Hey check out their website! I just looked at their circular and I seen some of their own products are organic and inexpensive.

They also have a great meat, fish and produce department. Full salad and hot bar and you can have lunch there. There is a place to eat, which is great.

Not only that, but their produce is all (or mostly anyway) from LOCAL farms. I just found out last week that produce in Wegmans in Wilkes Barre is supplied in part by Dymonds Farm which is right around the corner from me in Dallas. Plus, they've been on all the "best places to work" lists for years because they treat their employees really well. As far as I'm concerned, there's no better market in the area and I gladly drive the 20 mins. into WB to shop there. We just had these vidalia onion burgers from there for dinner and OMG were they good....anyone who plans on shopping there, you *must* try them!

Being so close to Georgia, we get nice fresh Vidalias real cheap here. Here's a quick "recipe" for when y'all can get them up there...

Peel a Vidalia, cut in 1/2 & cut the ends off so the 2 halves sit level (cut sides up). Separate the layers of the onion halves a bit & put bits of butter in between here & there. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese & some fresh ground pepper & put in the microwave for 5 minutes. Easy, fast & SOOOOOOO good!!!
