Default PNC Field

Going to a game there next week and I don't know the area at all. Was wondering what is around there. Are there places within walking distance to have a beer and/or something to eat? Thanks.

As far as walking distance, there is a bar/restaurant, the Stadium Club, attached to the stadium. Not sure how it is anymore, since they threw out the old vendor that ran the place and went with a national chain that does the concessions for the NY Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. My guess is that its probably now overpriced with mediocre food, but probably an OK place to have a beer. Just up the hill from the stadium is a pretty big shopping/restaurant area called "The Shoppes at Montage," its a "lifestyle center" open air mall, and as far as restaurants, there's Long Horn Steakhouse, Ruby Tuesday, Johnny Rockets, an Italian restaurant (can't remember the name) and some smaller mall-type places like Starbucks, etc. Long Horn Steakhouse has good food and there's a bar in there too. There's also Panchero's (in the Shoppes at Montage), which is a Mexican place that's maybe just a notch above fast food, but the food is great....the burritos are excellent (and huge).

Thanks a bunch, that mall sounds perfect. Is it walkable from the stadium or do we need to drive?

I'd say drive only because it is up a very steep hill from the stadium, on a very busy road with no sidewalks. Its probably only about a quarter of a mile away, though.

For dessert Cold Stone Creamery is nearby as well in a small plaza adjacent to the gas station at the offramp from I-81 onto Montage Mountain Road. If you want some REALLY good ice cream then I'd personally head up to the River Street exit off I-81 for Manning's in Scranton, but that's a bit out of your way. Have fun!

Nailed it on the former Stadium Club, now called Legends. I was there for the home opener this season and the service stunk, food wasnt much better and the decor from the new ownership and mission was pretty bland. Since it was the first game, i held the opinion inside, went back about 2 weeks ago and it was somehow worse. Calico, im not trying to steer you away, but i suggest just going to the bar and getting a seat there rather than in the restaurant. The Shoppes have a couple different offerings, no real bar to speak of though unless you consider the bars in Ruby Tuesdays or Longhorn Steakhouse real bars.

I was at Legend's last week and thought it was just OK, nothing spectacular. The service was decent and the food good, but I thought it was a bit over-priced. Just an average dining experience for me.
