Why is there a gay day at Knoebels? Is it really appropriate to have a sexuality-themed day at a family park? I wouldn't want a straight day either. As far as I know, gay people are welcome there all the time, don't know why there needs to be a "gay day."

Agree. Why do peoples' sexual preferences need to be promoted at a family amusement park? What special events and entertainment will be provided to families for "gay day" that wouldn't be provided on any other day?

Is Knoebel's sponsoring the event? Or is an LGBT group merely renting a pavilion down there?

I would guess that Knoebel's isn't sponsoring the event, that an LGBT organization is renting a pavillion.

The reason for it, Go Phillies and Greentown, is that socializing in a healthy environment is very important for the LGBT community. This is a group of people who are not only marginalized, but often times ostracized from their own families. Imagine what it is like to have love withheld from you by your family for an aspect of your personality that is beyond your control. This is a peculiar circumstance that LGBT people have in common.

Normally, all LGBT socializing is done in bars, which is not an environment that many of us enjoy for obvious reasons. Finding healthy ways to communitize is a positive thing and I hope we all can celebrate that.

That is what I thought Mike - that an LGBT organization is renting it. So this is not any different than Little League, CertainTeed, Boy Scouts or Kraft renting a pavilion.

IT"S your nature...how GOD made us...not a preference...and Gays have families too(at least those of us not disowned by family...like ME) we stopped hatching from that Gay farm where they cloned us...years ago....Now we are mostly the product of straight parents....
