Default Happy 4th

This picture I took while traveling about in Northern Wayne County seems to just scream "AMERICANA." Wishing all a happy and save 4th celebration, and don't forget those who have sacrificed much to keep our freedoms alive.

Great post Karen and I love the picture, especially with the mist. Happy Fourth to all and remember our freedoms. Do not drink and drive and that means the lake too! Law enforcement will be out by the numbers this weekend.!!!

At times last night it sounded like a re-enactment of the battle of Gettysburg in some neighborhoods.

Same here. I thought with the economy as bad as it is that people wouldn't have spent as much. I think this was one of the worst years yet! My poor cats are still jumpy.

Somehow people always seems to have money for stuff they really don't need. I don't buy any of that junk, it's all Class C and I have more fun watching the professional displays with friends. I would rather just sit back and enjoy and let someone else do it instead of doing it myself.

Yeah, I pinch pennies until they scream and just don't get it when someone is losing their house to foreclosure, but still doing fireworks, getting professional haircuts and running the a/c nonstop all summer - and it's not that hot! I've talked with these people and they feel they are 'entitled' to these things as human beings. It pisses me off as I try to do the right thing, pay my bills and be a productive member of society.

I agree the 'pro' shows are so much better. It seems the local stuff is mostly noise makers, not pretty fireworks.
