Can anybody please tell me where the Scranton Miner's Baseball team's ballpark was located in the early 50's ?? In the mid-50's the ballpark was torn down and they build an A&P Supermarket.

I would appreciate any info.

Thank you

Don D

The Scranton Miners played ball at the ball park that was formerly locted in the 1400 blocks of Madison and Jefferson Avenue in Dunmore, PA. This ball park was razed in the early 1950s to allow construction of an A&P Supermarket on the property. At one time, the Scranton Stove Works was also located on this site.

. My uncle,Joe Reardon was involved with building the baseball field you are talking about in Scranton. He used to tell me about putting worms and care after them in the field when it was first built. I nbelieve he also was a managerfor them before becoming Farm Team Director for the Philadelphia Phillies.
