One of the computers has a blue screen error caused by a device or driver and it has windows xp installed. Does anybody know of a GOOD computer repair person in Tunkhannock or close to Tunkhannock???

Just write down the STOP error code and Google it....you'll find the answer that way and most likely will be a link to a Microsoft Tech page dealing with that particular error.

Just my opinion but if you're getting the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death ) it's time to reformat, download something like Knoppix which is linux based OS that can be booted from CD. Using that you'll be able to boot the computer, plug in an external drive and move all the files you need to that drive. You should already have such a backup drive in case the primary decides to go on permanent vacation especially if it has irreplaceable business data right?

Once you have copies of them on another drive you can move onto reformatting but that process varies especially if it's something like a Dell and didn't come with Windows CD.

Coalman, I don't think they've heard of Knoppix and not too many are experienced with how to use it effectively. But Knoppix is the best choice for this!!
