ALL libraries across the state are facing budget cuts. Please take the time to contact your representatives and tell them how you feel. Because of state mandates, the only cuts that can be made are for hours of operation and personnel. That means libraries must keep buying books and materials but may not be able to keep open the same hours.

also please write your local representatives to let them know how important the libraries AND THEIR BRANCHES are to you

most staff are on part time and run programs that are free for the public-----any cutbacks will show in the decreased amount of services-----and most employees make under the average pa take home pay yearly----they are not state employees but private---libraries depend on the generosity of its patrons for support too

Ask the state legislators to give up their $158/day per diems and donate them to the libraries...that would more than solve the problem. If they agree to do it, look to the sky and see pigs flying...
