... From the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority, and almost not getting charged or prosecuted for it?

Something doesn't sound above board in the explanation, and it's good to hear that the feds intervened:

-- She was for 17 years an administrative assistant to a Magisterial District Judge who retired.
-- The state appointed her to replace the retiring judge, to compete his elected term.
-- The retiring judge was employed as a consultant by the Wyoming Valley Sanitary Authority.
-- The sanitary authority board hires former administrative assistant as an $11-per-hour billing clerk. She takes and supposedly processes peoples cash payments .
-- Authority "staffers" made the decision not to press charges if she paid back the funds she stole. A quote: "They were doing her the kindness of not ruining her life.".
-- It's unknown if these "staffers" informed the authority board, composed of representatives of the 14 communities that formed the authority in 1962.

Sound's like there's more to this that the feds publicized.

it's just not surprising anymore. What's surprising is it took so long to become public after everything else that happened.
