Default House explodes in Exeter Pa

Remember the house that exploded in Exeter Pa.?

House Explodes in Exeter - WNEP

This seems to have disappeared from the radar. The last explanation I read of how a house could be completely demolished and damage so many homes around it was "a family argument was the cause of the explosion".

I'm not buying it. Arguments don't demolish houses. Explosives do. Has there been an official explanation of what caused the explosion i.e. explosives, house filled with natural gas ect.?

Not that I've read. I don't know why we haven't heard anything in the news though. But, on the other hand this seems to be how the news operates here. They will have "breaking news" but almost always fail to follow up to its' conclusion. Irritating!

haha...irratating! LOL!..yea I agree Magritte25, to say the least, and its not acceptable. Houses don't just blow themselves to smithereens over an emotional outburst.

So what blew the house to kingdom come?
Calling all tv, radio stations and newspapers in that area.
Y'all have an answer?

From the link provided, "Police in Exeter said the fire that caused a house to explode was intentionally set." That may be what happened as the result of an argument. Any number of things will cause an explosion during a house fire.

Agruments don't demolish houses but blowing out the pilot lights and opening all the gas lines do. From all the stories going around Exeter, it seems the owner is the one that blew up his own house so his wife would not get it in the divorce.

He is just lucky he did not kill anyone in the process.

I do know, when that house blew, it even shook all the stores in the little shopping center next to the stadium. I was just walking into Gerrity's when that happened, it was so loud, you would have sworn it was something in the parking lot that went off. Needless to say, I had to run to the Wyoming store for groceries since it knocked all the power out.

"Seems like"? Is that the official explanation or is it rumor? So it was a a house full of gas?

I don't remember it being reported that the house was on fire. I remember there was fire in the garage.

If he blew up the house to keep the wife from getting ti then he is in pretty deep do-do. Nothing in the media about him. A friend of mine banged his car into a concrete divider in the median of rt 309 and it was in the paper for four days, yet with this guy nothing.

Yes, the house was full of gas.

The only official statement was in one of the articles:

" Police Chief John McNeil said he believes the blast was not an accident and investigators are looking at the family’s domestic issues as possibly being behind the explosion."

Deep do-do is putting it mildly, if he did this. I keep watching the papers to see what is going to happen next but, like you said, nothing is printed. You would think they would follow up on this story since it caused so much damage to surrounding properties.
