I am looking for an area known to scrantonians as Kings Castle, it was an area in the providence section of scranton, close up off of Court street and some of the side streets. The area for a long time was forest but within the past 20 years it has been turned into a new develmont area, up toward Euclid Ave. The area is the 1960s, 70s , and 80s was known as Kings Castle and I would like to know why, was at one time an old breaker up there. Thanks

I grew up there from the 1960's and never heard of it called that.Euclid Ave was called Pantyhose Lane, and the wooded area was called the motorcycle paths, or simply "the paths" There were many hills in the paths that were named by the riders, the dip, double dip, big ben, killer, the "v's" rollercoaster etc.

Come to think of it, there was a twin pillar/wall foundation further back in the paths, I believe it was part of a foundation for some sort of mining equipment , and the structure was called "the castle"
but the area as a whole was called the motorcycle paths..
