Default Update re the neighbors cutting my trees

While documenting their hack job with our camera, he rushed over and began screaming that we should get off his property (we were standing in front of our newly butchered tree). He screamed that we should get an appraiser to see where the lines stand (I checked; it's too expensive; he can get one if he wants to). He shrieked that our other vegetation is too high (we planted vines on the hill--the vines grow and trail), that our yard is a mess (I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder), and some other viciousness. Bottomline: we removed the branches ourselves. And we, ourselves, are moving out of this city. It's funny; I own my own house, pay my taxes, yadda yadda...and I have to deal with ignoramuses who attempt to control me as if I were their tenant.
Well. As soon as possible: goodbye Scranton, goodbye potholes-in-the-streets, goodbye unplowed winters, goodbye corrupt city hall administrators, goodbye crappy neighbors. I'm headin' for the boonies.

I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet. Don't give him the satisfaction of braggin' how he got rid of you. What you should do is get video recorder and video tape everything he does even when you're not home. I'm sure he goes snooping around when you're not home. Time-lapse recorders don't cost much and if he's done damage to your property while you're out you'll now have proof!!

Just an fyi:I had planned on moving to NEPA...my former next door animals just made me move faster...do not move unless you were already planning on it. I took a killing on my old house and if I had just rode it out, I would have made a lot more than I did.

Get the recorder and tape everything, smile at them be friendly...it will make them crazy~ I wish I had done that instead of lowering myself to their primitive level!

Couldn't agree with you more if I tried!! Every time I go back to NY to visit my mother I can't wait to get back to the peace and quiet of my corner of the woods!! I have neighbors but between us is an empty lot not big enough for building and he owns it. I have 1/2 acre corner lot so nobody on the other side of me and the house behind is set back far enough that they don't disturb me and I don't disturb them. Also, the neighbor next to me is a snob anyway. One day he was out trimming the tree's around his driveway entrance and as I walked by with my dog I said "Hi" and he just turned his back to me and went back to trimming his tree's. So I guess that meant he didn't want to be bothered and left it at that. Hopefully he doesn't find himself in an emergency situation where he's alone. I'll just sit on my deck and let him be just as he wants!!

I live in the country.. we own over a couple acres, light traffic and after 9 pm you really are pressed to see anyone. I drive 10 mins to get milk and love the ride. When it snows, I love to see everything so silent and white. I do not need to deal with a brown slush mess and parking bans.. Cool weather in the summer and I do not need AC running.

If I want to shoot my guns from my back porch I can, if I want to plant a large garden or friut trees or build things on my land.. I can and not need to worry about neighbors and their hassles.

You can have the crowded, loud, stinky city.. give me my farm fields and crickets any day.
