Are you looking more towards one than the other. You can try Bernville closer to reading or maybe Cressona closer to Minersville. Good Luck in your search!

On Rt-61 look at Deer Lake for country living, and Orwigsburg for small town living. If you want a development on a lake, try Lake Wynonah on Rt-183. There are so many out-in-the-country areas to live in between these two places, I wouldn't even call them villages, you have lots of choices.
I always thought the area along Rt-183 south of Summit Station and north of where the Appalachian Trail crosses the Kittanniny Ridge would be a great place to live. Mountains and hiking out your back door, bigger towns and necessities 10 miles away. And great views almost anywhere except in the lower lying areas.
I'll agree with an above post about Pottsville, not for the beer, but because it has some beautiful older homes. It's common to describe that town as an old coal mining town that has seen better economic times. Obviously lots of truth in that, while at the same time it has older sections that make for a nice place to live on a quiet street with well maintained homes and friendly people. Add in places to go out and eat or have a drink, and a downtown that has started to rebound from being boarded up and empty, it's worth considering.

Thanks for the info. I think we are leaning towards closer to the Mt Carmel area. That will be a 45 minute drive for each of us to and from work. I have not been able to find any houses in that area though. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
