Does anyone know if there are any places to eat at the Blakeslee exit of Route 80?

Yes, within about 2 miles from the exit there are several choices.

Chat N Chew Cafe is at the 940, 115 intersection. You also have a pizzia place in that strip mall.

There is the Blakeslee Inn, and there is a bar and another place to eat (dont remember the name) before you get to the strip mall. If you go the other way, you're heading towards split rock and pocono raceway which there are several more places to eat.

Thanks Brian. Would I be going on 115 South? We don't want anything too fancy. Are the Blakeslee Diner or Murphy's Loft any good? How far off 80 are they?

Is there anything to eat if going south on 115??? I don't recall a thing for several miles.

There are several places if going north toward the 115/940 intersection. Also, one exit west on 80 at the 476 exchange are a host of fast food type joints.

If you go south, Murphy's Loft is not too far on left, anf further down on right is Woody's.

Probably pub food (if they have a dining area) or a leisurely dinner. I will have my mom and two aunts with me who are all in their 60s.

Murphy's Loft would qualify for the pub food. I've only been there once....just last week. I ordered a dinner salad. I probably wouldn't make the same choice again.

If you are coming east on 80 from Hazleton, there is a nice restaurant at the White Haven exit. That's the exit just before Blakeslee. It's called The Powerhouse Eatery. I thought they had a web page, but I can't seem to find it. If you Google them, you will see a bunch of reviews.

I'd also recommend Robert Christian's...especially for your traveling companions. They serve a full table.....homemade bread, soup in a pewter pot for the table to share (separate cups of course ), salad and entree.

Robert Christian's

To get there you head north on 115 from the 80 exit. When you reach the light (not far from exit a mile or two) at Rt. 940 take a right and the restaurant is a couple of miles ahead on the right.

Just up the road from Robert Christian's is The Edelweiss. Interesting menu....some of it....well, I'm not into rabbit or kangaroo. Everything I've ordered there has been good though. It's a strong German theme.

They are less than a mile farther east on 940 from Robert Christian's on the left.

We've not tried Woody's, so I can't offer any personal experience there.

I would suggest you avoid McGinley's. You will pass it on your way heading toward the 115/940 intersection.

Never ate at the Blakeslee Diner either. I've not noticed a lot of activity there.

Chat and Chew is lunch and breakfast....and good!

I'm sure you can Google for better directions to these restaurants.

Enjoy!
