I use to think that Stroudsburg was nice and huge. Loved shopping for groceries there. Its just way, too crowded for my comfort now. I bet Easton and Pocono are about the same now that Easton expanded. The old Ames you say, huh.......

I find the same differences with the Honesdale and Dickson City Walmarts. The Honesdale store was just remodeled, but even before that I always thought it was much less crowded and cleaner than the DC store. Also, the traffic plan in place between Walmart and Target is about the worst planning (or lack of) I have seen.

Default I want to know more...

I just put up a post about looking to relocate. We've considered NEPA because I hear there's going to be a casino or two. Plus we love to fish.

Maybe you could check out MY post so I don't have to rewrite everything.

Thank you so much.

So a lot of people do move here because of financial issues. Sounds like manny is very bitter and has a chip on his shoulder and should just quit posting if he's going to insult everyone on this forum.

I agree with NYRangers2008! Whatever happened to agree to disagree agreeably?

Question Working at Camelback - Tannersville

Hi everyone!
I just loved this forum, i have a lot of questions about Tannersville, hope i can get some of them answered!

Well, I'm a student from south Brazil, i'm going to go to the USA in december, january and february to travel, practice my english, and work... One of the agencies that offers this program is offering a job at Camelback! So, I would like to know more about Tannersville, any help is helpful! lol

Is there a lot of snow in tannersville ussually? as here in Brazil it is very hard to snow, i just LOVE snow! LOL Hum, and what about the town? Is it a nice town for a 19 year old girl to live in? Are there movie theaters, places to buy clothes and food at a low cost, is it safe to walk on the streets at night?

How far is camelback from tannersville? is there public transportation? Do you think it i'll be able to find a second job there? Do you think people there have some kind of prejudice against people from Brazil?

Thanx for any comment or help! I'm finding it very hard to find informations about the possible places I could work

Tannersville and Camelback are in the same local location. You will need some kind of transportation there. Maybe carpooling with others who are students.
Yes, lots of snow for you Ise!! Camelback is for skiing, and snowboarding.
It is in a high elevation so there is even more snow to be had. There is no public transportation there. As far as a second job. Right below Camelback is the Tannersville Outlet Mall, here you will find many stores looking for Christmas help. If you do a good job, they might ask you to stay. Tannersville does not have a town area. You would have to go to Stroudsburg. There are many college students in Stroudsburg ( one town over) I'd say its best, to walk the town in the daytime hours. At night stay in groups. Just like in many locations all over the world crime has entered our mist and its best to play on the safe side.
There are a lot of young people who take the jobs at Camelback and also at the Outlets so you should find friends easily.
Best of luck to you.........and pack lots of gloves, hats, coats and boots for those winter months.........

Oh I am blushing..........Thank you.
One of my daughters got married at the Chatau at Camelback, a nice restaurant that is up on the mountain.
We spent some time in the skiing area last year. It can be a busy place during a good skiing day. Oh, but with a fireplace going, and snow in the air, just wonderful.
I hope you have arranged housing as sometimes rentals are hard to comeby.
If not keep your eyes on PoconoRecord.com - Front page for rental information.
That newspaper may help you also with what is available in and around the Poconos.
One of my daughters has a very good friend who came from San Paulo ,Brazil. She is like a 4th daughter to me.
It sounds like a great adventure for you.......
You will love Pa, and the friendly people here.
