I really think you will like working up at Camelback. My daughter worked there as a lifeguard in the summer and as in ski rentals in the winter. She absolutely loved working there. By the way she is also 19 years of age as well. Besides the multitude of stores in the Crossings, they are also looking for help at the local supermarket, Mr. Z's. Also don't worry about prejudices. The area is quite diverse and welcome people from abroad. Good luck to you.

Oops! I forgot to mention that you get to ski free at Camelback when you are employed there.

One of my daughters got married at the Chatau at Camelback, a nice restaurant that is up on the mountain.
We spent some time in the skiing area last year. It can be a busy place during a good skiing day. Oh, but with a fireplace going, and snow in the air, just wonderful.
I hope you have arranged housing as sometimes rentals are hard to comeby.
If not keep your eyes on PoconoRecord.com - Front page for rental information.
That newspaper may help you also with what is available in and around the Poconos.
One of my daughters has a very good friend who came from San Paulo ,Brazil. She is like a 4th daughter to me.
It sounds like a great adventure for you.......
You will love Pa, and the friendly people here.
Hey, Summering! No need for blushing! LOL
After all, u did helped me a lot! I already paid the taxes and all, i'm going there! And it's really a great adventure, at least the biggest one of my life! of course, i still have to be approved by camelback, but the agency told me that the only reason they wouldn't hire someone is couse of the english, but i guess i can speak enough for being a lift... well, anyway, I hope so! About the housing, I was told camelback or the american agency is going to take care of it, so I can't choose... but at least I don't have to worry about that.

Wow, that's nice! My mother was born in são paulo, i've been there many times, it's close to my city, about 5 hours by car. Does this girl lives in usa?

well, thanks again for you help!

Izzy, thank you too for your greatful help! Good to know it seems a very good place to work! I mean, if you daughter loved it!
And great to know they are ok with brazilians! It's strange, couse here in Brazil everyone just LOVES people from other countries, everyone wants to ask questions, talk about the country, show the turistic points, etc... really funny, actually! but I've heard that in the USA it's not like that...

And about free skiing... it's FANTASTIC! I've heard most ski resorts allow emplyees to do that, but camelback website said nothing about that, so I wasn't sure...

I have seen so many posts recommending the Pleasant Valley School district, so now I am wondering . . .

Could anyone suggest some great family neighborhoods in the Pleasant Valley School district? The only must-haves would be that the neighborhood be large enough to go on long walks and the lots be at least an acre in size. We'd be looking for a 4 bedroom house around the 300K range.

Gosh there is a home up from me that is gorgeous, on two acres about and has a wonderful style to it. I'll try to send the listing over to you. A tad bit more, but then people are coming down in price so its worth a try.
Most homes in this general area are on at least one acre.
There is a nice home area called Stanford Heights ( just off of 715 in Brodheadsville) The homes are nice in there. Turn down some of the roads off of 115 and you will find some nice developments. I will look the one house up for you and post you........
I sent you quite a few homes that are 4 bedroom and a few baths. Great land some over an acre.........

Yes, she lives in New Jersey now. Origionally coming from Sao Paulo. She did travel back there once and lived there for awhile. Then came back here with 3 little babies. I am her "second" Mom.........she spent so much time with us while growing up. When I get to see her, she is the same charming girl I have always known. I hope to again see her on Halloween, as I did last year.
You must keep us posted on your venture here. Maybe we can stop by the mountain, and welcome you..........all we have to do is look for the charming accent.

There are so many great developments in the PV School District. Some of the ones off the top of my head include: Birch Brier Estates, Birches, Birches West and Birches III, Sierra View Chestnut, Birch Hollow, Shadow Ridge Farm, Sherwood Forrest. I'm sure I'm missing some nice ones. Some of these are subdivisions and do not charge homeowner association fees, the rest charge minimal fees which for the most part include road maintenance, pool and clubhouse. The developments I would stay away from would be Sun Valley (VERY BAD REPUTATION) and Indian Mtn Lakes (very large gated community with their own set of problems).

Really to have an acre or more of land Brodheadsville has good communities.
I wouldn't travel up the mountain to more snow, fog and wind.........I have enough wind on top of this driveway
I like the Samford Heights off of 715, for large land, great homes.
Or.......areas off of lower 115. ( great, large acreage )
I don't think she will have to go so far as to Sun Valley or Indian Mt Lakes.
For the amount she is stating ,and for the land she wants, there are many homes around the school area.

Summering,
I have a question...where is this house you are speaking of? There are no active listings in Stamford Hts. (if this is what you are referring to) on the MLS. I'm a realtor and just checked this unless it is somehow incorrectly listed. Do you have the address of the home?
