I would like to know about traffic condition and snow condition there. How slippery roads get and how quickly snow gets cleared away from the roads and highways, for example.
Where would be the best place to live? I will be homeschooling my 3 kids, so school is not a concern. But safe neighborhood and road condition in winter are great concern to us.
Thanks,

Ok. YOu need to commute to Allentown and NYC(only on Saturdays). Ummm, I don't know where Great Bears is. But to go to Allentown, you use 33 not 80. And 33 is as slippery as any highway, my guess would be even more slippery since its sandwiched in btw two mountains mostly. But try the WindGap, Bath area or Easton even. As far as plowing...ehh, but not too bad. The highways are usually good. Its the backroads that you gotta wait to get cleared b4 attempting to go to work. Get a 4wd car and you'll be ok(my opinion).

Any help appreciated
Hi. I just got hired at Tobyhanna Army Depot and have until October to find a place to live. I'm not looking to buy until I know the area better, so I need to find a place to rent. My home town is Lebanon, about 2 hours South. I would like to stay close to the Depot during the week, but I will be going back to Lebanon every weekend. I know that Scranton is close to the Depot, but I was trying to find something that wasn't so North, since I will be traveling back to Lebanon every weekend. I'm single, have no kids, and will only be there 4 or 5 nights a week, so anything not too fancy and cheap will work fine. Pocono Pines seemed like a good location, but I don't know if there are any rentals there, nor do i know how to find out.
Any suggestions??
Thanks.

I saw some rentals in Pocono Farms recently in the Pocono Record.
You may have to try looking in that paper. Don't go into Pocono Country Place at all cost, close or not!! The rentals in Pocono Farms are not all that cheap but I think I did see one for $850.00 then upwards to $1200.
That would keep you close enough without going north, and in a good community.

Hi Molly,
I am a 66 year old single female. Looking for a nice place to live and make friends. My children live in the Wantage, Montague areas of NJ and Dingman's Ferry area. Staying pretty near them and being able to afford a small house or townhouse is my hope. I grew up in a lake community in NJ and would love to be on or near a lake. Can you give me your opinion as to what would be a nice lake community in the area that is affordable. Also, where there are senior activities that I could join.
Thanks for your help.

You could look into Tanglwood Lakes or Wallenpaupack Lake Estates near Lake Wallenpaupack. Here's a link to some info:

Molly,
Tell me what's happening these days at Skytop Lodge? Have you been there lately?
Many years ago I worked there. It is one of my top 3 places for beautiful walks/environment.
