Please make some suggestions

That doesn't help because there are just too many areas. I have visited Milford and Reeders. I'd like suggestions as to where I'd find some newer houses with charm, not in developments at especially affordable prices where I'm not paying commuter rates. There are so many directions and possibilities that driving there isn't really helpful - nor is spending hours looking at websites online and at property listings. Please offers some recommendations? Thank you in advance.

ok, well I live in reeders and love it!! I do not live in a gated-dues paying community. I feel safe in my area. I know a good realtor for this area, let me know.

I do remember your name from giving some advice before.
I also have to say that I feel crime is all over. Looking at most of the threads in other states, its the same thing. Same stories, .........but looking at your list of needs I can recommend a couple of towns for you.
For some charm and some spaciousness for your dogs I would head right to either.......
Gilbert, Kunkletown, or Brodheadsville. Homes are plentyful on large pieces of land and not in a development ( I know I have been there and dont that too!)
On Pilgrim Way there is a huge Library in Brodheadsville.......that is just a wonderful light filled place.
I'd not go into Effort, or should I say the higher ranges ........
Living in those three towns I mentioned you'd have close access to two major grocery stores, fast foods, some diners and restaurants.
Living there also will give you the spaciousness you want with a newer home that would not need too much fixing.
Granted you may have to put in your own hardwood floors, and perhaps your own fencing.........Homes are not sitting "ready made" for our particular needs.
You'll find in any neighborhood the need for management of your dogs. People do like to have their peacefullness during the daytime, and especially in the later PM hours.
That is only common sense to me, but its surprising how many do not think about other families when their dogs are barking all night long..........
I am surprised that looking on line is not helping you. I found both of my last two homes online myself. I'd be putting these three towns in and looking to see what the possibilities are.........
With this location you can still sit by your fireplace, yet travel off to Lehigh, or the city if you wish easy enough...........Hope this helps
PS the Vet is right on Main street in Brodheadsville..........

Thank you......
Thank you very, very much.
It's not that looking online doesn't assist me in locating houses. It doesn't assist me in deciphering areas in which to look.
My dogs are immensely well behaved, are not barkers and are quite well liked by most. However, I don't want to live immediately adjacent to anyone because there are people who just dislike dogs or who will intentionally antagonize, stimulate or even poison them. I don't want to be in this situation. I have other dog show friends who had a neighbor shoot two of her dogs. This notion terrifies me.
I went to realtor.com and put in Gilbert with a range of $150k to $300k and it brought up just one house. I will continue following your suggestions.
Thanks again, so much, for the prompt and thoughtful reply.

Gilbert is not a huge area, but has some nice large lots.........
You may want to click on the area that says "surrounding towns"( the same site you were on) this will give you some Polk Township homes, some Brodheadsville homes, and Kunkletown...........All these towns are bumpered together. Not that closely with your homes land but as far as location goes. I could be in all three places within 5 minutes!! Carbon Cty homes will also give you the privacy you are looking for.
I know I just read a horror story about a lady just moving in somewhere and having some very, very not dog-friendly neighbor next door.
It was such a sad story. The unfriendly neighbors were way out of control and getting away with it.
You may want to googlemap a home when you find one you like. This way you can look at its location.......in relation to other homes and town, stores etc........
I'll try to PM you.........in a bit..............

Line, Tannersville is not a city.........if you see even a town let me know
But, you will LOVE the outlet mall that will be right at your central area.
As a matter of fact, we have others from Brazil coming in December.......perhaps another Camel Back worker can give you a ride places. You won't be far from getting a bus to visit the city. Just bring your warmest coat and hat
Besides the outlets......Stroudsburg will be your biggest town to visit.
It has little shops, and two good sports shops. Many of the college students of ESU are there.
I think you all will have a great time........just plan to dress warm!

Tannersville isn't a city?? I thought it was!!!
I'm gonna travel with Ise, I thing you have already met her here!! I'm gonna work at the restaurant at Camelback! I'm really excited with this trip!!!
I was just worried about transportation, cause I wanna travel a lot too!! But I think it won't be a problem for us!!
And how far is Tannersville from Stroudsburg???
Thank you so much for your help! It's so nice to talk with someone who lives there!!!
