If it's available when I'm ready to buy, I'll surely go see it.

Hi Mollyme,
I Currently Own A House In Indian Mountain Lakes. I Live And Work In NYC. I Did Not Know Anything About The Poconos, Four Years Ago When I Bought My House. Now I Am Starting To Hear Of Different And More Beautiful Secured Communities Such As Hemlock Farms, Pocono Pines And Naomi Lake. Any Suggestions???

I know a few people who live in I.M.L. and work in NYC.
I wanna knock you and say "you should've done your homework first before moving", but I won't. The 3 places you named are even further from NYC. WHY move to them?? In my opinon there are no "secure" communities, really. Every community can get "broken" into, if the "bad guy" wants to get in -he will. Stick it out. Its not that bad in I.M.L, is it??

Tapshoe -
I grew up in Wilkes-Barre and lived in the Poconos for a few years. (I now live in Lancaster County.)
Wilkes-Barre has two wonderful colleges right downtown (King's College and Wilkes Univ), and the city is valiantly working to change its image from "coal mining town" to a college town. You'd have access to wonderful art museums, Kirby Center, etc. You may want to investigate a residence in the Blakeslee/Thornhurst area. You'd be mid-way between the Poconos and Wilkes-Barre. Easy access to I-81, I-80, and the PA Turnpike, as well as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Intl Airport.
(I used to commute from Lancaster to Manhattan for meetings when I was still working. I never want to ride another Amtrak train for as long as I live...)
Good Luck.

Guiseppe,
Ryan Homes in Blue Mountain Lake (where I live) is a beautiful area. Even though its listed as East Stroudsburg, because we are on the border of both towns, our children go to Stroudsburg School District (happier with). There is a brand new middle school and the intermediate school has an indoor pool for the children. We moved here 3 years ago from NJ, and are enjoying PA.

I have to ask....why does "Molly me" have such an aversion to Stroudsburg School District? Perhaps she enjoys the large increase in East Stroudsburg's taxes? I have been very impressed with the Stroudsburg School District. We came from a private parochial school district where my older daughter's yearly tuition was $13,000 (at Mount St. Marys, Scotch Plains) in NJ. We have 4 children, 2 who now go to East Stroudsburg University. The younger 2 are in the High School and Middle School. We were lucky that we fell into the Stroudsburg School District, some of the children in the East Stroudsburg district are up by 5 a.m. for a very long trek to school.

Info. on Sheppton or kelayres
 MollyME:
Have you ever been through Sheppton or Kelayres it is near Hazleton? My grandfather lived there when he was young and worked in the coal mines. We did have a great aunt that lived in Kelayres and would love to visit someday. I haven't been to Sheppton since I was a little girl many years ago.Would love any info. Thanks
