Wow! Thanks for the memories! My grandfather used to walk the Pittston Mall (now the Pittston Commons) back in the late-1980s and early-1990s, and I still remember going along. I still remember getting sick at Savo's when I was about 4 years old. I remember the nice smells from Old River Road Bakery, and I think there was a little convenient mart type of place right next-door with candy. McCrory's was neat to walk around in, and I still remember the old Giant (the "new" Giants down here in NoVA are great and save me tons of money!)
It's such a shame that the upcoming Pittston Crossings project along the 315 will KILL the commons and the plaza. The tenants are likely to vacate the bypass in droves for the higher traffic and larger space on the 315.

Eventually maybe the bypass venues will be torn down and replaced with townhomes? A bypass to Oak Street is really needed as well.
