Default Nostalgia - Pittston Mall (Plaza)

I'm trying to think of all the stores that used to be in the Pittston Mall.
Can anyone help me?

Here are the ones I can think of.

Kmart
Giant
Mccrory's
a doctors office
liquor store
Bernie's
Hallmark
Gertrude Hawk
A bank
Davies Mine (arcade)
99 cent store
Savo's
Fashion Bug
Chinese Restaurant
Staircase

I know there is a couple more but I can't think of them.

Grant's was the first department store there, before K-Mart. There was also a clothing store called May's (pre-Fashion Bug).

Wow! Thanks for the memories! My grandfather used to walk the Pittston Mall (now the Pittston Commons) back in the late-1980s and early-1990s, and I still remember going along. I still remember getting sick at Savo's when I was about 4 years old. I remember the nice smells from Old River Road Bakery, and I think there was a little convenient mart type of place right next-door with candy. McCrory's was neat to walk around in, and I still remember the old Giant (the "new" Giants down here in NoVA are great and save me tons of money!)

It's such a shame that the upcoming Pittston Crossings project along the 315 will KILL the commons and the plaza. The tenants are likely to vacate the bypass in droves for the higher traffic and larger space on the 315. Eventually maybe the bypass venues will be torn down and replaced with townhomes? A bypass to Oak Street is really needed as well.

does anyone have any pictures of the old plaza? outside? inside? goddamn id love to just see it all one more time. I always sued to come in to the Giant's entrance and then there was always that one old guy witht he disability saying things no one could understand, then right through those doors was that one little ride up againstt he wall where you sit in it and it just goes around and around. sigh
