I hate the Yankees, Philly can still pull this off if they want it bad enough.

Cliff Lee should shut down the Bankees tonight, but it will still be an uphill climb for the Phils. I still have faith, but it won't surprise me to see the Yankees buy another championship (should anyone be surprised? The Yankees went from missing the playoffs to the World Series after buying the top 3 free agents on the market for almost a half-billion dollars).

I have to wonder how people can root for the Yankees...its like rooting for Bill Gates to win the lottery.

I agree...it works well in football, basketball, and hockey. When you do get a dynasty in football, like the Patriots with their 3 Super Bowls, its actually an accomplishment since they couldn't just keep buying up expensive players.

Its not necessarily the Yankees' fault, they're not breaking any rules by buying championships.....but its MLB's fault for not having a salary cap just like every other major sports league.

As is the arrogance from the BANKEES "fans." (which I find it odd that a lot of them are also Cowboys fan...and Lakers fans....etc etc.)

Funny most of the people I know who are Yankee fans, dont root for the Cowboys or Lakers...
But I guess thats just another cheap shot at Yankee fans trying to assume that..

Yes the Yankees have a huge advantange over most clubs no question about that. But they also have plenty of homegrown talent that put them in the position they are now..

What were some of the Major League teams with the least payroll that went to the World Series??? Diamondbacks?? I really miss Joe Torre, but I certainly do not think Alex Rodriquez is worth what he gets paid.
