Default Winds of change sweep Luzerne County.

It appears that the voters of Luzerne County actually voted for change. Peter Paul Olefsefski was voted out, and Tina Gartley was voted in, watch dog Walter Griffith was voted in, as well as Carolee Medico. As embarrasing and shameful as the county corruption is, it appears it has awoken the voters and citizens of this county. Maybe in a strange way all this corruption, arrest and other nonsense was just what Luzerne County needed to make people wake up and pay attention to what thier so called "leaders" are doing. This was a historical election day for Luzerne County. I am happy to say that every single person in Luzerne County that I voted for won!

Too bad its "same ol same ol" in Scranton and Lackawanna County. The only positive was the new council majority....Doherty's rubber stamp is gone, and council will have a supermajority so that they can override the mayor's veto power.

Scranton voters or LACK of Scranton voters chose to not be proactive. I did check the numbers of votes cast and tallied and I am certain that there were MORE voters that chose not to come out and do their part.

The super majority sweep was great. It was fantastic actually. I just don't understand why people chose to be sheeple when it comes to Doherty. Scranton, you have my sympathies...

I will guarantee that the people of Luzerne County will be sorry for eating up the local media's campaign against Olzewski.

He was a DAMN good judge.

I never said Peter Paul was a bad judge but there are some things that are still questionable. He DID go down to Florida and stay at the condo if memory serves me correctly. I agree though, he was a good judge but some things that he did placed him in bad company with the other two...

Do we know that he knew that man was a drug dealer? Or what the other two were up to?

He said he was made aware of the fact near the end of the trip. The people that were privy to that conversation have true first hand knowledge of what really happened. The rest is hersey and open to interpretation. Right now however the point is moot. Hey I feel bad that he lost the bid for retention but right now Luzerne County is still hurting from the recent scandals. As far as what the other two were up to? Surely many people knew but turned a blind eye or thought of it as 'not their problem'.

None of this excuses people from voting out a judge that actually did a very good job for this county.
