A little known fact is that Skytop Lodge is open to the public....so that means YOU!
It is not just open to its stay over guests. You can go for lunch, golf or go paintballing.
....
The Adventure center offers fun in all kinds of weather. This center opened in June of 2008.

There is a rock climbing wall( behind the center ) and it is 33 feet tall. There are eight different climbing positions from kids to expert.
Classes are offered, but not required. This is open year round...but will not be open in ice ........snow is ok, just not the ice.

There is six different fields one is a speedball field. Two are natural woods and three have manmade obstacles as well as natural bunkers.
Minimum age to paintball is 10 years old.

Mountain biking is available well into the fall and lessons and rentals are available.
The trails are very rugged, you go over logs, rocks and bridges.

They teach geocaching and GPS basics. There are 30 points on the Skytop property.

Thre are wilderness skills workshops that offer shelter building , firebuilding, and about edible plants....

Skytop has a family friendly ski slope. it also offers snowboarding, snowshoeing, tobogganing and ice skating with rentals and lessons.
Offering family friendly times and pricing.

Cross country skiing is available at Skytop and dogsledding will be available too this winter. ( for guests)

Web site www.skytop.com

For hours of operation at the Adventure Center. See above web site.

Toboggan weather is unique and will play a huge roll in if it runs or not.
It dumps out onto the lake, so they need at least nine or 10 inches of ice.

The ice skating pavilion is an indoor/ outdoor areana......the pavilion walls protect the ice area.

Dog sledding is only open to guests at this time.....but, it sure seems like something fun to watch.

In the 1930's and 1040s dog sledding was a popular activity at the resort with competitions held thoughout the winter season.

In the spring and summer there is additional adventures in hiking, kayaking and canoeing.

On November 28th there is an Art Show, and also the Pocono Wood Carvers will be downstairs with great items for Christmas or for your personal home. This is open to the public. You just might see Mr Summering there as Rockky of NEPA did last year.

We love visiting Skytop Lodge, its charming and unique......cozy and special. Even the gift shop is adorable. That is downstairs too.
Have some fun, and enjoy our local Lodge.......

That's good to know. We used to live right by there. I wish it was open to the public back then. I just relized that they have small cabin rentals too.

Oh man! A rock climbing wall? My daughter loves to climb, and I've been looking and looking for a place that she can go!

My husband has been to Skytop a few times for business meetings and loves it! Now he has a reason to take the rest of us there! Thanks so much for this information - my daughter's gonna be psyched!!

The manager said many people didn't know it was open to the general public.
Too many private places go bankrupt, not enough money flowing.
There are always very nice people at Skytop coming to stay year after year.......
A joyful, awesome place, of great character. Everyone should get to enjoy that.......so happy its open to all.
