Apex Modular Homes
Does anyone have any knowledge of this company, Apex Modular Homes. We are in the process of researching Modular Home Dealers to have a home in the Pocono Area. We heard about this company but would like to hear from someone who has dealt with them(good or bad). Thanks, Dorothyhelen

Modular companies
The companies that we've looked at over the last year include:
Pleasant Valley -http://www.pvmhi.com/home.html
Went to their plant in Pine Grove PA, they have 12 homes on display
Simplex - Welcome to Simplex Industries, Inc.
Located near Keyser Oak section of Scranton, they have a few models on display but have not seen their plant.
Signature - New Construction, Home Design, and Modular Homes in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and the Eastern Seaboard
Located in Moosic, had a plant tour, but they don't have any actual models on display to see.
Avis America - AvisAmerica Modular Homes
Haven't yet seen any models, but hoping to soon. Clemleddy Construction in Tafton area is one of their builders.
Read as much as you can - go see a few manufacturing facilities and tour houses - and ask a lot of questions. The folks on this board have been great sharing their experiences as well. Good luck!

Yankees Fan,
We built a modular home in the Hideout 2 years ago. We were extremely satisfied with our contractor. D&D Development work through Remax Realty on Rte. 590 in Hamlin.
Their attention to details and the quality of their work is exceptional. The package they give you includes every option imagineable. Their follow-up service is guaranteed for 1 full year. We also have wood decks and screenroom.
Highly recommend for problem free building. Everything is in turn key condition.

No knowledge of apex, but check out D&D Development at Remax in Hamlin. They deal with several manufactures.

To Mickin
Hi Mickin - Glad to hear you like your modular. Was this a Pleasant Valley model? Also, did you need to customize the floor plan in any way, and if so, was that easy?
Thanks,

Thanks for the info I love PA. Just one more question. Whats the name of the company Sam Wilmot is with. We are going to build in the Hideout in lake ariel. We are in the process of picking out the model we want and we are going to price out the builders. If you or anyone else can give me the name of reputable builders that would help alot. Thanks for any information.

Roxxy38...
I live in The Hideout also, just put up my modular 3 years ago, it is for sale now.
698-6989, R.R. Wimot Excavating, and ask for Sam. Trust me..he takes care of everything, he is a decent guy. As far as bulders, I don't really know, check with the Wayne County Builders Association or the Southern Wayne Regional Chamber of Commerce in Hamlin.

Yes, we have said this before, D & D does everything for you, Shorten you have to do a lot of the work yourself...BUT their is a BIG price difference. Sperry is out of business by the way. You probably could save yourself about $80,000. by being your own subcontractor, whcih requires arranging for your own foundation and excavating and having your decks and/or screened in porch built. D & D homes are beautiful if you can afford them, I'd rather have a Shorten home and save $80,000.
