Hi Tapshoe, I just stumbled over this forum via google search, as I was looking for for a semi-local Thanksgiving buffet. Maybe would you like to join my husband and myself? We are 48 and 43 and have no sexual interests (just to leave to misunderstandings).

Usually we would visit his parents, but this year it's not possible.

This is my second Thanksgiving in NEPA as a full time resident. I have much to be thankful for! Last year we ate out because our oven had not yet been delivered, and we enjoyed it very much!

Thanks to the guidance of several city data people, we were able to find a nice place, with a pretty and festive atmosphere, that was able to accommodate our dietary needs.

This year, while I have a stove, we are returning to the same spot. This year we have created many memories, made good friends, and become involved in our new community.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my city data friends!
Best wishes for a bountiful, creative and fulfilling year ahead.

How very generous and lovely of you to extend the offer.

I located what appears to be two choices of lovely buffets both with outstanding reviews, one being immensely reasonably priced and the other just a tad more costly. I had booked a reservation for myself at the less costly choice, the Inn at Pocono Manor, for their 2:15 seating and I am undecided as to whether I should follow through or cancel and just stay at home and get through the difficult day.

Please look at the menus and locations and let me know your thoughts.

Sheena12, I am glad to read you are so happy in your new community! But I wished you had mentioned where you're actually going!

My Google search actually brought me here, this is a sign that there are no usable restaurant links available. (Wouldn't they be listed way before the forum links?)

I am just asking out of curiosity, please don't think I would want to crowd you and your family.

Hi Sherry, meanwhile I have been reading all your forum posts to get to know you better. It may scare you, but I understand you pretty well. I am "structured" similarly maybe (not adjusting to the NePa people well, being an outsider and to make it worse, insisting on staying different).

I had a good look at both links above (I am not familiar with any of these places), and I guess that any of them is probably a pretty good choice. I am a vegetarian and unhappy with their offerings, but I guess this holiday is not catering to people like me. My husband does eat meat (outside of home, when he gets the chance), and he might really like the selection. I might fill up on fruits and cheesecake or so.

I had looked at this before:
http://www.mountairycasino.com/dine/menus/ThanksGivingDayBuffet_2011%20updated%20.pdf (broken link)

and I do like it because of the bigger non-meat selections. But maybe I am just fooling myself, as maybe the other places just don't list all their non-meat offerings (because they might think that doesn't count).

I haven't been to this Casino place either, so maybe this is just terrible. I have no idea. The Casino gets bad reviews on Tripadvisor, but since I haven't been there yet, I can't really know how accurate they are.

I am in the USA since 2004 and up to now I have only been to my husband's parents on US holidays. I am not American and this holiday doesn't mean a thing to me. But Hubby gets the day off, and the next day is his birthday and that is off also, so we have a bit of spare time.

I would really like to meet you in person, and I can't make up my mind about the location yet. Have you ever been to these places before? The prices don't seem to be that much differing from each other, so that might not be a big issue of choice.

Why did my link not appear as a link?
Sorry for the dumb question, but what did I overlook or do wrong?

Trying again:

I am really sorry, this is just a mess with my link. I don't know how to edit or even delete it. I have just joined today and still need to try things out. Please excuse this mess and get the link with copy+paste to work.

All the colors of Autumn: Golden Brown Turkey, Orange Sweet Potatoes, Maple Red Cranberries.
May your stuffing be moist, and your gravy be without lumps. May you eat pie with no calories. And may you have much for which to be truly thankful. Happy Thanksgiving.
