As if those of us who are more positive are somehow crazy.

Yes, but to be fair I dish it back just as hard on the Times-Tribune web site when I bring out the boxing gloves and call people "Doomers." I can stand the heat, so I stay in the kitchen.

You either see the glass as half empty or half full.
There was nothing rude about my post. I didn't insult anyone or call anyone a name. Some people just like to see Scranton for what it really is and others see what they want it to be. That's fine if they envision a Norman Rockwell city, but it's not, sorry. Why would I say it's bad if it really wasn't? I'm not going to lie, I'm going to tell the truth. I don't like Scranton in it's current state and I tell people to think twice before they move here. If I liked it, I would say that too, I would not lie.

Thank you Paul for understanding we're I'm coming from. I'm not going to sit here and pretend everything is great in this city. But like Dan told me once, why should we always point out the good things, people already know what they are. People need to be aware of the many bad things here. And I never assumed or implied that anyone was crazy, you guys who love Scranton just see a different vision of us so-called "Doomers". Take a chill Mag.

Thank you, thank you. Just because I'm not happy with where I'm living does not mean I'm not living happy. Like I've said so many times in the past, I'm a realist. I'm not insulting anybody, maybe except the mayor, when I say I dislike Scranton. I'm not going to sit here and lie and say everything is great, when it's not.

Yes, saying people are "drinking the Kool Aid" isn't insulting in the least.

Paul, I'm happy that you can dish it out and take it. I try (but don't always succeed) in talking about the subject at hand instead of people.

It's not offensive. But it's not conducive to productive conversation to sit there and call names. It's juvenile.

No...not if you own a house that you still owe a lot of money on and can't sell very easily. Its not easy to sell a house in this economy, nevermind in Scranton, where not many people want to move because of the wage tax. Most people are not in the financial position to go and buy a house outside the city without first selling their house in the city.

Well, you could choose to default and leave. That's a choice too, which a lot of people are exercising. If you don't do that, you're still choosing to stay.
