It's in the Constitution first of all. And what if this woman LIED about being choked. I'm NOT saying SHE is but people do LIE. That is why we need these rights to protect all of us.

You do have a point there, but it just seems criminals have alot of rights and it just gets to be to much.

What I originally posted, to summarize, was to stop blindly supporting the political machine and political party insiders in Luzerne County politics -- more or less the very thing you are proposing in your posts here -- don't sent them contributions, don't volunteer time, and more importantly call them up and tell them you demand better, and you expect better, and you want change. and if they want your support, monetary/time/votes, they better get on it straight away. I also said "Not because of anyone incident, but because of the sum total of everything that has happened to date." The post is copied below.

You lose any credibility in this debate when you push the agenda "it's all OK, let's just see what happens." Mindsets like this got things to where they are today. How can you possibly think it's ok and acceptable to have a sitting judge hauled before a district magistrate in handcuffs accused of violently attaching his wife.

More so than the judges and the local and county elected officials, I think all the political insiders -- the committemen and women, and the county political party leaders and officers -- should be wholesale removed and replaced with new blood. Not because of anyone incident, but because of the sum total of everything that has happened to date.

If you contribute money or volunteer time to assist the local democrat, or even republican parties, ask yourself ... are you really helping the situation? Or just contributing to making it worse? Call 'em up and tell them you expect better.

Why should "insiders" be removed when they haven't done anything wrong? Furthermore, how do you propose to out the insiders? What kind of procedure can or should take place?

I don't think it's "ok". But I do believe in due process, adherence to laws and loyalty to the Constitution. In other words, I believe in Innocent until proven Guilty.

As I have stated several times, if there is a law that states that sitting judges who are arrested (not convicted, but arrested) are not allowed to sit on the bench, then by all means - remove him. If not, then those who are calling for his immediate dismissal are no better than the officials they detest.

If there isn't a law, there should be one. It makes a mockery of the whole process when you have a judge up there arrested for that kind of conduct. He should at least be suspended without pay pending his summary judgment.
