I am not sure that is entirely true...and I was not thinking Catholic. I have a few years before I have to make a decision, maybe I am more of a snob than I like to think I am. He will not be attending Scranton High or West, that is for sure.

Well both SHS and WSHS are very good schools, I can assure you that. And if he's doing just fine at Armstrong, if he goes to SHS or WSHS, he'd be going to school with most of that same group of kids. As far as private school options, there are really no options in this area other than Catholic. The only non-Catholic is a small Baptist high school near Clarks Summit, and Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, which I believe is affiliated with a Protestant denimination. Prep is a Catholic school.

I do have to say that, as far as loud teenagers at the high schools using profanity....that's not exclusive to Scranton schools or public schools. When I go for walks at work on my breaks and kids from the nearby Catholic high school in Wilkes-Barre are roaming the streets right after school....I see the same behavior from these kids that you see in the public school kids....lots of profanity and whatnot.

I remember being in HS & kids pushing the limits with squealing tires, loud music, bad language, etc. I understand that.
It's the attacking people with knives (happened to a neighbor in WSHS), guns or the threat of guns & the gang activity that I want away from.
I also understan that it can happen everywhere, but the incidents are more prevalent in urban areas. I grew up in a small town (Danville) and we had problems but not to the extent & rapid escalation that I'm seeing here.
