It looks like the DC area is the hot place for young people to begin their careers!

It's not so surprising since Obama is expanding government by leaps and bounds so we have lots of jobs. Plus, it's a cool place to live!

Man, that's news to me given I've been looking for a job with the government for about a year now.

Oh goody. I have a great reason to come back to Northern VA. GAG!

If I were to work in DC, I'd rather do a miserable commute from Baltimore than live in NoVA.

I'd rather do Austin or Durham on that list.

The OP omits the fact that DC tied for first with Seattle, according to this article. The article is nearly 10 months old--not new information.

Somebody's going to make a fortune catering to the 20 somethings headed for the tech corridor. I hope it means we get more concert venues. Could it be that Reston/Herndon might someday become hip?

I'm not surprised. The DC area, particularly NOVA, seems to show up at or near the top of most job and family-friendly lists. The federal government along with defense contractors and high-tech companies are certainly booming more than most other industries these days.

It'll be interesting to see how many of those grads actually live here awhile, and how many stay for just a year or two and then move on. Although, I suppose most of them are getting fairly high paying jobs if they're willing to move here--and when you get a job like that you tend to stick around for awhile.

I wonder what percent of these new college grads moving here will move to Reston/Herndon?

With the silver line coming in I would imagine there will be a large number of new grads (and others) coming in.
