Do you think it's too late for me to head to Georgetown? Also does anyone know how I can find an address over there so I can put something into my navigation system for directions?
Glad you got positive vibes from your interview. Best of luck to you!

If you've seen the new TLC show "DC Cupcakes", it's located in Georgetown. So if you want a trendy treat to reward yourself , head over to Georgetown Cupcakes at 3301 M Street NW, Washington DC. Or just use the directions to get into the heart of Georgetown. Be aware that parking will be even tighter on a DC Monday than you may have found it on an Old Town Sunday.

Alright, thanks for the Georgetown suggestion, folks! I'm going to go for it!

Thanks to everyone who suggested Georgetown, I loved it. I did some pretty good shopping. I came back taking the George (Washington?) Memorial road along the Potomac, and it was so gorgeous.

Yep, the George Washington Memorial Parkway - or GW Parkway, for short - is very scenic. It actually goes all the way down to Washington's estate at Mount Vernon. For some regular DC commuters though, the ambiance might be lost on them as they negotiate their way through traffic.

If you move here, be sure to drive it in the fall when the leaves turn.

Sounds like you are doing great navigating your way around town - better than some longtime residents! I always seem to make a wrong turn off the GW Parkway. Anyway, glad you had a fun day and hope you get the job!

ny2dc, since I only really saw 2 places (at length), those are the only things I can recommend: Old Town Alexandria and Georgetown in D.C.

I'm not gonna lie - I had a pretty nifty navigation system in my car, it's really been my savior And thank you!

LOL, me too. I can't tell you how many times I've accidentally driven into the Pentagon parking lot.

Tone, I actually walked past this cupcake store you mentioned and there was a line all the way down the street. I remember seeing that and thinking, "holy sh*t." While my love for cupcakes cannot be defined, I'm not willing to wait in a line 50 people deep.

And, I got the job folks; I will be joining you shortly
