Best and WORST Places To Kiss In Northern Virginia
Years ago I saw a list of best places to kiss in the DC area and the curved bridge at Lake Anne made the list. But I can't remember what else made the list. So..... in the interest of promoting better smooching, let's make our own.
And just to give equal time, how about a list of the WORST places to kiss, too. In fact, that's where I think I'll kick things off... here are my suggestions:
WORST Places to Kiss!
1. On the Metro escalator. Stop all that smooching folks, people are climbing up the escalator and want to get by!
Best Places To Kiss
1. OK, we'll start with the obvious. Any bridge. We already heard about the one at Lake Anne (below), how about getting a smooch right in the middle of the Key Bridge?
2. Sunset Hills Winery.
3. While kayaking on the river (but remember, the Potomac has a current, so grab that smooch quickly before you drift away...)

Worst: In front of certain embassies. Especially Iran
They frown on that sort of thing. I'm not sure what they would do but why risk it?
Best (if you're an exhibitionist): How about in front of the traffic cameras? That way you get get the thrill of being caught on camera, and best of all you distract the ticket writers for a few minutes!

Worst: While wading in the river!
Sure, wet t-shirts are sexy and it looks romantic in the movies... but the undercurrent here is strong. Getting swept up in a smooch is great, but getting swept AWAY while you smooch could be deadly!
Best: A bench along a river. Very romantic, and no chance of getting swept over Great Falls.
Fountainhead Park has lots of nice ones. So does Algonkian Park, where this photo was taken.
I could see some great smooching happening at one of these benches:

Whatever you do, do NOT smooch while on the Loudoun Farm Tour right in front of the alpacas. They'll spit at you!!!!!
