In the Weird Street Names thread, illeagle said "Stringfellow" would make a great name for his cat.

Which got me to wondering.... what other Virginia places would make great names for a pet?

I used to have a cat named "Hamilton" (because that's where he was found) but I always thought I should have named him after "Backlick Road" since that's what he was always doing...

When my dog had puppies we named them Ashburn, Sterling, McLean, and Aldie. McLean was the one that always ended up getting in trouble and I used to say "it figures, that's where my brother lives and he always get in trouble too."

Good names for a dog:

Arlington
Fairfax
Loudoun
Reston
Rosslyn
Vienna

Not so good names for a dog:

Falls Church (can you picture yourself saying "Falls Church, you bad puppy!" or "Catch the ball, Falls Church"?)
Front Royal
Occoquan
Annandale
Route Seven

Oh, I thought of two more: Winchester and Potomac would make great names for a dog.

Yes! But Ballston would not be good for a male cat that's been neutered.

Culpeper. Especially if it's a Labrador Retriever and you call for it in a classic Southern Gentleman voice:
"CulllllPEP-AH! Come heah, now!"
