LOL, that may have been an odd choice of words but I think I get what she was saying. A serial killer normally kills people. Especially one who's escaped from prison and wouldn't want witnesses. This guy is not an amateur with a knife, you'd expect anyone who survived to be a lot more hurt than these people were. It does seem strange (although thank god it wasn't worse).

I'm most dismayed that authorities believe these attacks may be racially-motivated as all of his victims have beem minorities (with most being African-Americans). I thought by the year 2010 the anti-black, anti-gay, anti-this, and anti-that nut jobs would have crawled under a rock and died!

Well, FWIW I have no intention of changing my walking plans in Leesburg because of this. IMO the chances of him having returned are unlikely. Why go from Flint, to Leesburg, then all the way to Toledo (almost the whole way back to Flint) only to turn around and come back to VA?

I think the police are being properly cautious... but that's it. Elvis has left the building.

With his sort of geographical randomness he might be in Scranton by now!

I'm guessing you're not familiar with the route, or Michigan either. Leesburg is not very much out of the way (out of which way anyways? ).
It is easy to drive up 15 to 340 to 70 to 76 to 80/90 to 75. Flint, Toledo, and Leesburg are all right on that route. Why would it be odd for him to go to Leesburg? Wouldn't it be just as odd if he went to DC instead?

Also, Leesburg is the first major town you hit in the greater Washington area if you are driving in from Michigan (if you choose to approach DC from the Virginia side, that is).
