Hello
I'm looking for the cheapest area to rent a 2+ bedroom apartment or house.
Is it possible to find a place for $800 or less? I'm willing to go a little further away from NOVA. Thanks

Not possible - you need to look hard in NOVA to find a 1 bedroom for under $1000.

There are low income/income-restricted apartments/Section 8 places. All the ones I know have waiting lists, but eventually you could get a place assuming you met the requirements.

rent is out of hand, 'cane. I get 569 for a nice 2 level, 1 br in Phoenix, next to an LA Fitness. It would be 1200 in Manassas. 1750 in Vienna. I would look at what it would take to buy and have a PIT at 800. Like TH in Woodbridge or something. CL has been ruined by scammers....sorry, ymmv.

I would be very concerned about just what kind of area you are getting for that price.

Northern Va. is horrible for renting. Especially, in decent areas.

Tycane

I looked at your listing. That is an extremely unusual price for that kind of property in this area. Maybe you lucked out but be very careful to do due diligence. Craigslist is notorious for rental scams.

Umm... Tycane.

Dude. It is IS a scam. I fed the description into google and found that listing again. At its proper expected price of $2300 a month.
