Better for Small Business Taxes? Maryland or Virginia? (sale, income)

I’m looking to move my business down to the DVM (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area and need to decide on which state is best for small businesses with the best or lowest business tax laws. Can anyone help or provide any input on this subject?

Maryland = tax and regulation hell. We fled the place for Virginia more than a decade ago.

The DC government resembles that of a third world country so it is difficult to compare to VA or MD. Taxes were high last time I looked.

I have read before, that Virginia tends to be more favorable for small business owners, and I do believe the taxes are less.

It's official that Virginia is better than MD for business since CNN Money rated it in the top 10 states for small business..

As a tax professional I can tell you that it is impossible to answer your question without knowing more about your business.
Virginia sale taxes are lower , so you would be saving there, however if your business provides services or logistic advice, this would be irrelevant.
