Did anyone experience moving to Burke, VA and then developing major allergies. My sinuses have pressure, light headedness, and throat irritation since moving to the area from Alexandria....could it be all the trees.....totally at a lost.

I've experienced that since moving to NOVA, I live in Alexandria. You might have grown accustomed to the pollen in Alexandria and there might be different ones in Burke, and there sure of plenty of trees there.

we live out in Stafford and my 16 yr old had a really bad asthma flare this week, the asthma doctor told me that ragweed was high right now, the 13 yr old as well as myself are experiencing the same thing you are so maybe it is ragweed in Burke as well.

Been to to doc twice and gave me allergy meds. but not really working; plus, not really getting itchy eyes or eye irritation; just nasal and throat, not my usual type of allergy. Could it really be that much difference between Alexandria versus Burke pollen??!!

If Burke has more areas producing ragweed, then yes. Not sure where you lived in Alexandria.

I always feel worse at home in suburbia then when I go to work in DC. Lots and lots of concrete in DC.

I also wanted to add, last year from Aug to Feb we were living in Arlington and we didn't have any issues with allergies either, but when we moved back to VA and settled in Stafford now we do, so maybe because we are in an area with less concrete, more trees and grass we would be more affected by allergies. FWIW we are not having in issues with eye allergies either, it is just the throat and sinuses.

Its more like when I am in the house versus not in the house I think. I have cleaned like a crazy person for two weeks and still feeling only slightly better. Does anyone have a residential indoor air quality specialists they know of. This feeling is killing me. I moved from Arlington/Alexandria and now feel terrible! Any help would do. Thanks ajzjmom for the followup...I just feel like crap.
