And Mom's Apple Pie, that building is pretty new, but was built to fit in to the town.

The lady waiting on me said they had been there for seven years now in this spot so it's at least that old. Of course this is brand new compared to much of Occoquan. She said they have another store in Leesburg as well.

The Victorian townhomes that they built across from the post office where the boat sales used to be look great too.

They are very nice looking. I wonder if the insides are just as nice?

I'd love to go to an open house for one of those, to see what they're like.

I tried it and I wasn't impressed. First the chicken was kind of burned and another was that they didn't have fried yuca. I was disappointed as I heard/read good things about them. I prefer Guapos personally.

Last time I was in Occoquan for lunch, there were a couple of the townhouses still for sale. They were open and of course, we just HAD to take the tour! Very nice inside, each had their own elevator. The ones that were still for sale overlooked the street and the townhouses behind them. The row behind them overlooked the waterway.(they were all sold) I think they were priced around $800,000-$1,000,000. I heard an ad on the radio for them recently, so I imagine they are still open to look through. Occoquan is a nice place to spend an afternoon browsing and eating. (when it gets a little warmer)

Seeing the Occoquan and Belmont Bay pictures also reminded me of a river cruise I took the grandkids on. We got on at Occoquan Regional Park, went to thetown of Occoquan (where you can also board the boat), then up to Belmont Bay. Turned around and came back. The boat was far from luxurious, but it was a peaceful hour and reasonably priced and something different to do. I think they leave 3 or 4 times a day. Don't know when they start up again, but probably sometime in the spring.

I guess it can be hit or miss. I was just "okay" with Guapos last week.
