That house is beautiful! But with that said, I agree, they are not getting that price. That is a prime example of why I don't understand this perception of that area. There are some really nice areas down there.

Prince William County, hello foreclosures! Housing values got hit hard there. So many are under water. My in-laws moved to Manassas in 2005, and got burned. They could never get what they paid. I had heard that with Prince William County Police checking immigration status, that many illegal immigrants moved to Fairfax County or even further out? Hello Culpeper? Paris? Not sure how true that is.

Manassas seemed to suffer the worst with foreclosures. Not so in other areas of PWC. My area seems to be doing quite well and houses have appreciated nicely. Even people who bought during the bubble are not underwater. They might not be making money, but not underwater. I'm not really sure what happened in Manassas.

Hello Tiger Beer : o)

I know you asked questions/made comments on this thread two years ago but wanted to reply. You wrote:

"Is that just one particular school district...or just a lot of latinos everywhere throughout?

Most of the 2000 data and updates from there, seem to place things pretty evenly between black/white/latino.

Did it recently just shift significantly more Latino? Is that mostly Salvodorian beyond other Latino groups?

Didn't notice that heavily of a Latino population in data that is probably 5-10 years old. I'm interested in the area regardless.

On a side note, looking forward to the 2010 census results coming out sometime soon!"

As far as part* of your question " ...or just a lot of Latinos everywhere through out..." I've lived in this area for over 30 years. I grew up here, and from what people describe themselves to me... there are* many Latinos/Hispanics but*** randomly I just wanted to add it's important to know (not that you don't already :O) that some people "look Hispanic" and/or have a Spanish last name... but doesn't mean they are. I'm part Filipino (Pacific Islander... my Grandfather was a Pacific Islander and his race was Asian) and I'm also part German... and many Filipinos have Spanish last names like myself since the Spanish colonized the Philipine Islands for about 300 years but no Filipino (that I know of) thinks of themselves as "Hispanic" but they may just say they are "Pacific Islander" or are "Asian"... but due to my mixed background I look "Hispanic" to some people from what Ive been told... so my point is... it may look like there are a lot of Latinos/Hispanics in an area... and that ofcourse can be true but I just wanted to randomly say that... some people might be labeled something they are not based on their looks or a name and if they happen to have neighbors who consider themselves Hispanic and/or are from a Latino country... sometimes people might lump them with their neighbors. : O) People should just take into consideration... their neighbors who look like a particular 'group' might be something else.
Also... random again but there was a commentor who said that some of the "Latinos" he's met don't speak Spanish... so how would he know they are Latino? Again he probably made an assumption about their looks which has happened numorous times ("Oh... I thought you were Spanish...") Nice people but I am part Filipino and there are other Pacific Islanders/Asians and Mixed Pacific Islanders who live here but due to looks... can get lumped in* with other groups. It can also be a little depressing (I'm not going to lie) when some people are looked down on these days for whatever prejudice and you're lumped in with that "group" due to looks. I just needed to Rant* about that Randomly*. :O) Ranting always makes me feel better. :O)

"Fairfax is worse". LMAO Thanks for the laugh. I would never go to Walmart, much less Woodbridge/Dale City.
