with walking distance to the Yellow Line Metro stations that's around $1200 for one bedroom and not dagerous?

Meeting your criteria, no. Sorry Winter I can't even think of Garden Style Apartments anywhere near a yellow line station.

If you're willing to take a shuttle to the metro and up your rent a couple hundred, there will be several options. Otherwise, I gotta agree with Ronin.

Kings Gardens is a mile away. They weren't dangerous when I lived there, but that was 13 years ago.

I totally forgot about Kings Gardens, not sure about the not dangerous part though. I have heard some bad things about that cleanliness of the place and the walk to the Metro from there is kinda far and not pedestrian friendly.

There's this place -- Jefferson Gardens (Jefferson Gardens). I'm not personally familiar with the complex so I have no idea about safety. The management company that managed my old apartment complex manages this one as well, so that's how I know about it.
