Just curious, is the weather in DC area noticeably warmer than the tri-state area? Especially during the colder months?

Not all that much, really. Winter sets in a little later. You can certainly get the cold stuff in November, but it's usually Dec 15 before you're in it for good. And by Feb 15, you can start thinking about some nicer spells again. Doesn't mean they'll come, but the worst is pretty much over by then. Most winters, a Gulf high or two will float in and break things up too. 72 degrees on New Year's Day is always nice. Tree wise, the difference might be about 10-14 days earlier for the leaves in the Spring and later for all the colors in the Fall. But the general pattern and feel is pretty similar to North Jersey which is where I'm from. Might run 3 or 4 degrees warmer here on average, but if you aren't a tree, you don't really notice it that much...
