I don't know if I'd consider that second listing, if only due to the commute. A map website predicts a minimum 90 minute commute to Alexandria via Route 301 in MD. The time estimate doesn't account for traffic. And heading through VA doesn't look to be any easier.

If you're planning to spend $200 on commuting anyway, perhaps bumping your housing budget to $1400 would increase your options a bit closer-in (e.g. Stafford and Prince William Counties).
