Yeah, I go to Giant maybe 2 or 3 times a week, but for small stuff (milk, newspaper) or specific items on sale. And my wife almost never goes to Giant. We do 95% of our grocery shopping at Wegmans.

But I've used the Giant/Shell deal once, when I could get 30 cents off a gallon. However, the way the Shell prices are around here - significantly more than anyone else - it took 30 cents off to make it a good deal.

So, for someone who does a lot of shopping at Giant and accumulates a big discount, I think it's absolutely worth it, even if you have to travel a bit to get to a Shell station. And you get a bigger bang for the buck with a bigger and emptier gas tank!

Some Shell stations are overpriced, but not all of them. If you have one that isn't overpriced thenit's a fantastic deal!

Since I already do all my shopping at Giant anyway, and the Shell stations are within a few cents of the other stations 99% of the time, it's been a nice little bonus for me.

I kind of roll my eyes when I actually do the math though. Woo-hoo, save 20 cents on my 12 gallon fill ups...$2.40! I mean, it's free money, so I'm not complaining, but I don't cry when the points expire if I forget to use them.

We only fill up about once a month, so about the time we need to get gas we have a good number of points.

Both Giant and Shell seem over priced to me. I buy a lot of food at Costco and get gas while I'm there, and IMO it's a better deal.

Yes, I use them and love them. I almost always get gas at Shell now even though there is frequently a wait. It's worth it to get $.50 or more off every gallon.

Use it every month but only drive car about 50-75 miles a month. Save about .40 to .50 Cents a gallon and shop everyweek at Giant spending about $150 a week.

I haven't used it b/c it was confusing when I first heard about it. Why can't they just keep it simple? Do you have to sign up for it? Do you get it automatically? What about the points?

It's automatic. Your points show up on your receipt, but, honestly, I don't know how points translate to fuel discount. It's easy at the pump: Simply scan your Giant card first, and the screen tells you your discount. One thing to remember: Points don't carry over month-to-month.

I shop at Giant frequently, so it really CAN make a difference on the gas prices...although, the higher the prices go, the more difficult it will be to "get a deal"....Thanks, OPEC!

If you use Giant, then it's silly not to take advantage of the Shell deal. If you're only spending money in a place you DON'T shop, then it's not worth the while!

If you have a Giant saver's card, all you need to do is enter your phone # onto the gas pump (there's a keyboard for that) or scan your saver's card. The pump will automatically drop the price to whatever level you're entitled....and you pump as normal. Easy!
