Shrimp and grits at Magnolia's at the Mill, Purcellville. Kinda a Cajun-Lousianna style with spices, tomatoes and andouille sausage over rice. Delicious!

The sweet sticky rice with mangoes at Courtside Thai in Fairfax City. (I also just love Courtside Thai in general - not the best Thai I've ever had in my entire life, but really darn good, and creative, and *fresh*.) The sweet sticky rice and mango is, like, the best fricking SE Asian-type dessert I've ever tasted.

Runner-up would be the the Door County sour cherry sorbet at the Dairy Godmother in Del Ray. In third place, the potato dumplings with the little blobs of paprika-scented stuff on top at Zum Rheingarten in Stafford.

Finally, my 'Would've Gotten Third' award goes to the amazing watermelon and mache salad (a summer special in '08 - it was topped with some shallot-y vinaigrette, IIRC) at Franklin's in Hyattsville, MD. (No, it's not in NoVA - that's why it *would* have gotten third.)

Non-chain:
- Chicken Pad Ka Tiem (garlic sauce with broccoli) at My Thai Place in Brambleton

Local chain:
- Chicken tenders at Blue Ridge Grill in Brambleton/Leesburg

Chain:
- Gnocchi in tomato vodka sauce at Maggiano's in Tysons Galleria

I have to agree with you on this one. They are very good! They also had an AMAZING pumpkin cheesecake.

Good to know there is one in Brambleton, we've been to the one in Leesburg several times. Brambleton is closer!

We recently tried Mokomandy. YUMMM!!!! Everyone in my group liked it, and let me tell you that doesn't always happen. Try this place when you're in the mood for something unusual. The cuisine is creole/Korena. We liked the fried pickles, gator croquettes, jambalaya, bulgogi beef, chap che, and poutine. The beignets, chocolate fudge, and gateau de sirop were particularly good for dessert.

Creole and Korean?! That sounds bizarre, yet delicious.

I'd have to vote for the chicken kabobs at Moby Dick's.

I love the Dim Sum at Fortune in Seven Corners (weekends). I drive all the way over there from the other side of Maryland once in a while just for that.

I've got to say I've been VERY impressed with the quality of food out here in Leesburg. I've enjoyed Aiyara Thai, Angeethi Indian, and both the Roy Rogers particularly.
