I am looking at a few rental properties in Falls Church and Arlington. Does anyone have any feedback on the following properties:

1. Balmoral Condos (Lee Hwy Arlington, VA 22207)
2. Cambridge Courts (Arlington Blvd Arlington, VA 22201)
3. The Courtico (Veitch St S Arlington, VA 22204)
4. Woodlake Towers (Arlington Blvd Falls Church, VA 22044)
5. Idylwood Towers (Pimmit Dr Falls Church, VA 22043)

I am mostly concerned about:
a. Safety - is it safe for a female to walk alone at night (i.e. from my car to the building)?
b. Bugs - are any of these places known for having infestations?
c. Parking - is it easy to find parking at these locations?
d. Residents - friendly? age range? families/couples/singles?

I have a friend who lives in the Balmoral - he has owned his condo there for over seven years. I am female and feel safe walking alone in the parking lot. It's a small complex and the buildings surround the parking lot - it's not like you park behind a building or out of sight. I don't know about bugs. My friend has one assigned parking space, and then there are some visitor spaces right in front of the first building, and some more on the west side of the lot. I've never had a problem finding a spot when visiting him.

As for the residents, my friend is in his late 30s, living with his partner. My impression when visiting has been that it's not exactly Melrose Place with the heavy inter-unit socializing, especially since there isn't a pool or other common facilities (that I'm aware of). My friend works odd shifts sometimes and was doing a part-time graduate program for most of his years there so I don't think he knows many other residents. There isn't a lot of turnover in the complex. The people coming and going generally seem to be older than the stereotypical Orange Line condo-dwellers; it's a quiet neighborhood and lacks the post-college feel of the newer hi-rises closer to the Metro. I've never really noticed any kids there; his building is all 1-BR, but the other buildings look bigger and probably have some 2-BR too. It is a good location; there are a lot of shops in walking distance (Pastries by Randolph!!).
