My husband caught his bus out of DC at alittle before 3 and it took 2.5 hours home today, when it is normally 1 hr 10 minutes, I picked him up at the commuter lot, it was sleeting when I left home and by the time I got to the lot 2 miles away it was snow. If he hadn't left when he did he might have had to spend the night on his office floor. LOL

I took a personal day today because it was icy out in Chantilly in the AM. I figured the evening would be even worse. Your husband's commute is similar to mine (except I take the metro for half of it). I did NOT feel like battling people on metro platforms and spending my afternoon on i-66.

We have shoveled some of our neighbor's driveways. They aren't home yet and it is 7:15pm so I'm sure they are stuck in the gridlock. It took my neighbor 45 minutes to go 3 miles. Liberia near where we live was closed in one direction and the other direction was a parking lot because of a hill. I am glad I just left work early.

I think the reason schools were closed is because for a day to count, the kids have to be there a certain number of hours....delaying the start and closing schools early which they would have to of done would not have counted as a day.

Took my wife an hour and 45 minutes to go 8 miles. I was lucky enough to work from home today because the cable guy had to come by and fix my TV...before the snow started.

What a great thing to come home to. You're a good person.
