For the last two weeks I have not been able to access my email, internet, and maps on my iPhone. After resetting my phone I figured the problem was not mine. I called AT&T Friday and they told me that 20 towers were down in my area and the first (couple? ten?) went down January 13. The dates do not correlate with any storms. I would imagine that with so many people affected that there would be more of a story, somewhere. Am I the only one experiencing a problem?

My neighbor has an iphone that he cannot live without. He was on it yesterday afternoon with no problems and the past week.

I experienced the same problem with my iPhone a few months ago.

I took it back to the AT&T store and they indicated that it was likely due to the SIM card. They removed the SIM card and found that small particles of dust or dirt had made it inside and was interfering with the connection to the card.

They cleaned it out and it was as good as new. I haven't experienced a problem since.

They did tell me that this is a somewhat common problem with people (like me) who use a phone case and don't remove it frequently, which allows the dust and dirt buildup.

Hope this helps.

Thank you for the replies and advice. I guess I was the only one. I will take the phone to a store tomorrow, or whenever the weather permits.
