Drove to Lake Accotink Park, near the marina. Everying covered in snow. Lake covered in snow on top of ice. We wore our hiking boots as usual, but this time they came in handy. rest rooms were open by the way.

Walked north up the CCT. Woods were absolutely insanely beautiful, as were the lake views. We stopped to talk with someone who was walking her dog, turned out to be an acquaintance. Due to losing time to that and taking pics, and, to a late start, we did NOT make it to Braddock rd as I had hoped. We did make it well past where we had made it on our southbound hikes from Wakefield, and we turned back to to the LAP facilities.

The trails are not cleared of snow (by FCPA policy) though CCT was well packed down and easily passable. No cyclists of course, a couple of runners IIUC, but mainly walkers. Quite a few enjoying the remarkable views, many photographers as well.

Sounds beautiful . . . would be nice to see pics???

Hey, how about the wildlife? Have you seen any birds as I've noticed lots of birds coming out?

I was at the post office today and one of the postmasters said a coyote just ran by with a squirrel in its mouth.

actually DW noted how quiet it was, not even any birds.

A few geese though.
